Privacy Policy — Git Skool Sync
Last updated: August 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Git Skool Sync browser extension ("the Extension"), provided by SolidCloud ("we", "us", or "our"), handles information. By installing or using the Extension, you agree to the practices described below.
The short version
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
- No analytics or tracking. The Extension does not use advertising or third-party tracking.
- Your data stays with you. The Extension operates within your browser and communicates only with the services you connect in order to perform the sync you requested.
- Settings are stored locally in your browser (and, if you enable it, your browser's built-in sync storage).
1. What the Extension does
Git Skool Sync helps you synchronize content between the services you connect (for example, your Git/GitHub repositories and your Skool account). The Extension performs this synchronization on your behalf using the accounts and permissions you provide.
2. Information the Extension handles
Information you provide
- Account connections and credentials. To sync between services, the Extension uses access you grant (such as an authenticated session, API token, or OAuth authorization). These credentials are used solely to communicate with those services on your behalf.
- Preferences and settings. Options you configure within the Extension (such as which items to sync and how often).
Information processed to perform a sync
- Content you choose to sync. The Extension reads and transfers the specific content you ask it to synchronize between your connected services. This content is processed to complete the sync and is not sent to SolidCloud.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your browsing history.
- We do not collect personal information for advertising or profiling.
- We do not run third-party analytics or trackers inside the Extension.
3. How information is used
- To perform the synchronization you request between your connected services.
- To save and apply your Extension settings.
- To maintain the security and correct operation of the Extension.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
4. Permissions and why they're needed
The Extension requests only the browser permissions required for its features. Depending on the version, these may include:
storage— to save your settings and sync preferences locally.- Host / site access to the services you connect — so the Extension can read the content you want to sync and write it to the destination service on your behalf.
activeTab/ scripting (if applicable) — to interact with the current page only when you trigger the Extension.
The Extension asks for these permissions only to deliver the synchronization features described above. It does not access sites or data unrelated to that purpose.
5. Data storage and transmission
Your settings are stored using your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage). If you use your browser's built-in profile sync, those settings may sync across your own devices through your browser vendor — SolidCloud does not receive them.
When a sync runs, data travels directly between your browser and the third-party services you connected, over secure (HTTPS) connections. SolidCloud does not operate a server that stores the content you sync.
6. Third-party services
The Extension interacts with the external services you choose to connect (such as GitHub and Skool). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. SolidCloud is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.
7. Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your information. We may disclose information only if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SolidCloud, our users, or others.
8. Data retention
Settings remain in your browser's extension storage until you remove them, clear your browser data, or uninstall the Extension. Content processed during a sync is not retained by SolidCloud.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the Extension, including using secure connections for data in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Your choices
- You can disable or uninstall the Extension at any time from your browser's extensions page.
- You can clear the Extension's stored settings by removing it or clearing your browser data.
- You can revoke any access you granted to connected services from within those services' account settings.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
13. Contact us
